Today was another sea day, but a wonderful day to gaze at the beautiful Andes mountains that we sailed along, and later in the day through to get to our next stop — Puerto Natales. To get there, however, we had to traverse the White Narrows, about a 200 meter wide channel. Because of the narrowness, we could only cross it at slack tide, which waiting around for a couple of hours while one of the Zodiacs went ahead to measure the tide. While we were transiting, 4-5 Andean Condors flew overhead. So dramatic (they have 9 foot wingspans!). Anyway, it was very exciting. We’re going to be in Puerto Natales for a couple of days since it is the kicking off point for visiting Torres del Paine National Park. For tonight, we thought we would go into town and have dinner and what we found was the opening night for a new Chilean barbecue place called #carneros_natales. What an amazing night — great food, great wine, friendly service, and a group of new friends. If you ever find yourself in Puerto Natales, by all means stop by! And the big surprise actually happened — Deb got her bag back! Yay!

Sunrise over the Andes.
The clouds parted and the sun came through, showing us this incredible view.
Passing through Whites Narrows. We were about as big a ship as could fit through the Narrows.
Phew! Made it!
Our traveling companions — Giant Andean Condors.
Sometimes you just luck out. The restaurant we were going to was overbooked, so the guys here asked us in. It was their opening night!
After a fabulous dinner, the owner and staff joined us for a photo. If you are a carnivore, you will love this place!
And, upon returning to the ship, there was Deb’s bag — flown in from Ushuaia. Praise be!
