After driving across Montana (at a high rate of speed), we pulled into East Glacier, MT. There were only 2 more days before the Going to the Sun Road would close for the season and we wanted to see it. Unfortunately, a snowstorm blew in and, while we tried to make it to the St. Mary’s entrance, 30 mph winds, slush on the road and blowing snow made us reconsider. Consequently, we traveled over to West Glacier where the weather was much nicer. Didn’t have a lot of time to spend, but already planning a return trip.  Time to head home!

Driving into East Glacier. The skies are starting to look a little threatening. Should we try the Route to the Sun now or wait until morning? Nah, let's wait...

The next morning. The snow, wind, and slush convinced us doing the Going to the Sun Road (with its narrow roads and sheer dropoffs) might not be such a good idea!

So let's go to another part of the park. It's a beautiful day at Lake MacDonald.

I am a traveler and sometimes clay sculptor, following a long career working in consulting. My work allowed me to travel the world extensively and I was hooked. Today, I travel with my wife/best friend to explore new places, meet new people, and learn new things.
